Alrightly, I know there's been a bit of controversy about packs and posting points lately, and hopefully this thread will clear some of the problems up. (Many of them have been caused by me in the first place for not enforcing the rules as I should.)
So, first things first ;
How many posting points do I need to get in a pack?- - After much discussion and deliberation, my admins and I think it would be best for a new pack member (applying for a lower position in the pack) to have at least twenty posting points, so this is not differing from the original rule. However, if you're applying for an Alpha position, you need to have something in the reigion of 40-50 posting points, (harsh, but there is a very good reason for this) to join / start your chosen pack.
Koiji, why are you being so mean??- - I'm not trying to be mean, it's just this is a problem that has affected Twists for a while now. So, why you ask, do we have harsh posting point things? Well, I'm going to give you a few reasons for them, the first one being that : in the time it takes you to get 40-50 posting points, your writing is bound to improve, and also, it should give you a sense of achievement that you've managed to reach that sort of status. Apart from improving your RP skill, the posting point rules will make you more attached to the site (hopefully) and then make you want to post more and more on here. It may not seem like it, but this is in the member's best interest, and we wouldn't be enforcing it if it wasn't. Please don't be too angry at us for making this rule.
So what about Beta's and the like?- - Betas have to be appointed by the pack alphas, sorry. Like Gavin in Jeder, the site will be following something similar to the system she set up in Jeder.
But we don't have many members that are active, why enforce this?- - To keep Twists as good as it is! Twists is an awesome site, (if I do say so myself, hehe) and we want to keep it that way We don't want people coming on here, and applying for a pack position with like, 2 posting points, and then leaving 'cause they forgot about it, or got bored. I really aren't trying to be mean, so please don't take it that way.
Why so harsh with the alpha positions though?- - Ok, I know they may seem a lot of points to have to reach, but it'll be for your bennefit, promise! Plus, it allows the admin team to chose people who are really good for the role! Plus, again, how embarrassing would it be if you were an alpha and someone in your pack in a lower rank none the less, was a more alpha-y character? Also, that's not to say you can work your way up to an Alpha position!
